About Us
HSNBA cares for about 4500 animals per year, mostly dogs and cats. Staff works diligently to reunite lost pets with their families and when that is not possible, finds them new loving homes. In order to prevent future puppies and kittens from being born into homelessness, all pets adopted from HSNBA are spayed and neutered, vaccinated to prevent disease and treated for parasites. All animals are also microchipped prior to adoption to insure they can be reunited with their owners if they are ever lost. Often animals land at HSNBA needing more specialized and intensive veterinary care than we can provide here and we secure treatment at a local full service vet clinic for that care. While our contracts with the City of New Braunfels and Comal County provide us with a little less than half of the funds needed to care for these animals, we rely on donations and grants to cover the rest.
